The Chandigarh administration calls for civil defence volunteers in Tagore Theatre and Sector 17 Tiranga Park. Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh, Nishant Kumar Yadav, said in their press briefing that a huge number of citizens participated in this civil defence volunteer program. As we all know, the tension between India and Pakistan is on its peak, and both sides are retaliating. Now Chandigarh administration is to step ahead and start civil defence volunteer registration. Youth who registered as a civil defence volunteer will get the training at the discretion of the Chandigarh administration.
This registration for civil defence was held on the 10th of May 2025. After the announcement there is huge number of 3000 people reached at sector 18 Tagore Theatre at 10:30. The Administration estimated that there are approximately 800 to 1000 people at this location. After reaching 3000 + people in this place, remaining civilians will be shifted to Sector 17 Tiranga Park. They will get civil defence training in Telangana Park. According to the Chandigarh administration, on the initial day, the civil defence personnel were only 300, and now they will reach up to 3300.
Civil Defence Volunteer Registration
If you are from Chandigarh or nearby and want to become a civil defence volunteer, then there is an application form is available for registration. Interested civilians have to register with the help of this application form. When you fill out the application form, a list will be generated by the administration. All the selected volunteers will get a one-week training of one week. In case there is any work situation in India, then the administration will take the services of these volunteers. On the initial day, on Saturday, the registration process was initiated from 10:00 a.m. In Tagore Theatre Sector 18, after this announcement, thousands of youth reached Tagore Theatre.

Eligibility Criteria to Become a Civil Defence Volunteer
- The person who wants to register as a civil defence volunteer his age should be at least 18 years old.
- The Chandigarh and nearby Chandigarh youth registered as civil defence volunteers.
- The person should be physically and mentally fit to become a volunteer.
- After registration, a one-week training is necessary. So you have enough time to attend a week’s training.

- In the application form, firstly, you have to provide your full name in block letters, your father’s or husband’s name.
- You also have to provide your nationality, permanent address, occupation and present address.
- The next section provides your educational qualifications.
